What’s a hospitalist?
Pediatric hospitalists oversee the care of children on Framingham Union’s pediatric unit. They are board-certified pediatricians who specialize in the care and coordination of care for children admitted to the hospital.
Our hospitalists provide individualized, family-oriented, advanced medical care for the patient. The hospitalist is the link between families, nursing staff, other doctors, and most importantly, the referring pediatrician.
Having these pediatric attending physicians on the unit 24 hours/7 days a week allows children to receive needed inpatient care at Framingham Union, close to home. If conditions necessitate, the child can be transferred immediately to Floating Hospital’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit or other appropriate inpatient unit.
